Coach Nick

Hey there! I'm Coach Nick, and I’m here to serve - Pun intended! With years of experience under my belt and a passion for the game that’s almost as strong as my forehand, My Tennis journey started on the collegiate courts at UTA, where I lived and breathed tennis as both a player and Life-long Learner, even competing in circuit tournaments.

Did I mention I’m a former USAF pilot and currently an acrobat pilot? Yes!

I have written books on aviation. My love for learning doesn’t stop there; I’m a certified investor and teach how to navigate the markets, I own a real estate business and a logistics company and other ventures - meaning; I value time mine and yours and getting the most from it. Be it 10,000 ft high upside down in the air, or on the court learning to ace your first serve.

I’m a proud TCU graduate with an MBA and a UTA graduate with a BSCSE and Electrical Engineering. Tennis is my passion, and I teach it for fun! I’ve had the pleasure of working with everyone from tiny tots who are just learning to swing a racket to adults chasing their competitive dreams—or, you know, just trying to beat the neighbor at their own backyard.

No matter if you're picking up a racket for the first time or looking to fine-tune your game, our sessions will blend serious training with a healthy dose of fun. After all, tennis is a game, and games are meant to be enjoyed! Let’s hit the court and see what magic we can create together!

One of my favorite Poems:
“I bargained with Life for a penny,
and Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
When I counted my scanty store;

Life is a just employer.
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial's hire,
Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
Life would have willingly paid”

Moral of the poem - always give your best and reach for the Stars!

Coach John

Hello, I'm John Nickel. I picked up tennis my middle school year and moved from the bottom of JV to 2nd on varsity. I've been a captain 3 consecutive years, have over 100 career wins, and have been nominated for multiple distinctions for my work in tennis including JV most improved player my freshman year. My favorite tennis accomplishments are making it to the regional quarterfinals in doubles, plus working with and contributing to my team's 5 consecutive district titles.

I have one Labrador mix dog that loves attention. I enjoy all outdoor activities, from tennis, climbing, fishing, basketball, kayaking, and most especially, spending family time at the beach. I am currently attending the University of Texas at Arlington and studying under a business major.

Coach SJ

My name is Sarah Stevenson. I go by Coach Sarah or Coach SJ! I’ve been playing tennis since 2015 and have been apart of some incredible teams! Had been on CHHS varsity tennis for two years and perused competitive tennis at UNT for 3! I’ve coached privately as well as large summer camps (UNT Nike Tennis Camp) and love introducing the game to everyone (new or returning). I specialize in mental toughness and game play strategies.

I have a mutt rescue named Tyler and a small blue parakeet named Dooris! I love to talk about them and show photos of their tricks that they love to do!!
